Trusting Your Capabilities

Self Trust – Changing Your Mentality & Finding Confidence

It’s known that you are your own worst enemy. We get into our heads sometimes, asking ourselves “Why am I not successful enough, fit enough, smart enough?”. This is not helpful to our own self-growth and confidence building.

No one is perfect and neither am I. And that is ok. We all have valuable skills and talents that we bring to the table. It’s just about acknowledging that we are all different in our ways. Life has been challenging for a lot of us but there are solutions to overcoming rough seas.

Key things to remember when you’re going through a rough time:

  1. This Too Shall Pass.
  2. We are all human with unique life experiences that shape our daily lives.
  3. Nothing changes completely overnight.
    1. Take every win day by day.
    2. It is a marathon, not a sprint.
  4. Comparison is the enemy of self improvement.
  5. Learn from every failure and mistake.
  6. Take a moment every day to be thankful for all that you have.
    1. Not everyone is fortunate.
  7. Learn how to discern who is good for you in terms of friendship and romantic relationships.
  8. Never be afraid to speak to someone close to you about your struggles.
    1. You are never alone.
  9. You are loved.
  10. Don’t give up. You’re closer to greatness than you realize.

While I still struggle at times, I constantly remind myself that life isn’t meant to be easy. In fact, it’s meant to shape me, like the military did.  Every struggle that I’ve been through was meant to make me stronger as life moves on.

Life throws challenges at you to grow you internally. It’s to sharpen the iron through the fire. As the famous saying goes “Calm seas don’t make great sailors”.
