What Can I Do To Sell My Home for the Most Money Possible?

Homeowners, I know that selling your home can be a stressful experience with much uncertainty. At this moment, inventory remains low in the LA area, which is helpful but preparing the home well for selling still matters. Here are a few tips to achieve great success when selling your home, no matter the market you’re in:

• List Price: This is one of the most important factors when selling your home, which is something you and your REALTOR® will discuss together. One thing to remember is that the list price is not the value of your home. It is simply a marketing tool to bring the buyers in. Buyers and their agents will look at comparables prior to submitting offers, so this will be extremely important. Pricing your home based on current market value will ensure your home nets the most money possible. Remember: price to sell.
• Decluttering: Get rid of unnecessary items in the home and organize the spaces! An organized house will look great in photos and buyers will enjoy walking through the home.
• Landscaping: Cleaning up the front and back yards of your homes will enhance its curb appeal. The front yard will be the first things buyers will see. First impressions matter!
• Painting: A fresh coat of paint will brighten the home, highlighting your home well. Make sure the paint job compliments the home.
• General Cleaning: Hire professional cleaners to dust off and clean windows, floors, walls, ceilings, counter tops, and exterior areas.
• Staging: A majority of homes that are properly staged net 5% to 15% over the asking price, according to a 2021 National Association of REALTORS® study. Staging helps buyers visualize the home. Even if you occupy the property, I will highly advise staging! Hire a professional stager to display your home in it’s best light. It’s worth the cost!

There are other ways to prepare a home, but these are great starts to ensuring your home sells for the most money in the shortest amount of time possible!

What Should I Do This Summer?

In LA, there’s plenty of hiking trails and they don’t need to be a dread during the summer! Check out the trails by the beach, such as Pacific Palisades, Malibu and Rancho Palos Verdes. The ocean breeze will help curb the heat and make the hiking experience enjoyable. Also great for some photo ops!
