Potential for a “Silver Tsunami” in 2024
Analyst Meredith Whitney, who predicted the 2008 crash, spoke with Yahoo Finance recently about a potential “Silver Tsunami” that could impact the housing market in 2024. Her first prediction is that regional places like Texas and Florida continue growing while states like New York and Ohio experience population declines. The second trend Whitney highlights is that over the next few years, baby boomers will be turning 65, leading them to downsize and retire, thus sparking the “Silver Tsunami”.

Mortgage Rates Continue Declining
Mortgage rates remained in the mid-6%’s at the end of last week. While the Fed announced last year that they would be cutting rates in 2024, it’s important to know that the decline could be gradual in the next few months. If you’re able to buy a home now, it’s a great time to jump in and get into a home before more buyers jump into the market.
